THANK YOU

THANK YOU

April 15 is my favorite holiday, not just because my oldest child was born 22 years ago today (Happy Birthday, Lucy!) but because it is Tax Day, which means I am done, I can take a break, it’s over, at least for a week or two.  Of course this year is different in so many ways.  It’s not over.  It feels like nothing will ever be over.  We are all gerbils running on wheels.

But to preserve my sanity I am taking a few days off.  I’ll be back in the office April 21st.

Before I go though, I really want to express my deepest gratitude to all of you, all my clients and friends.  This is my career, and the biggest part of my life outside my family (please don’t do any “time spent” verification on that).  Without you I wouldn’t be here.  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your trust and how I value the confidence you have placed in me.  We added a lot of people to our little “tax family” this year, and there were many unexpected challenges even before the global pandemic hit, and I feel like I made mistakes.  But I worked as hard as could and I hope I was a service and a help to you.  That’s why I am here.

So thank you, thank you so much.

Stay safe, and stay healthy.  And just because it was playing while I was writing this:

I know the rent is in arrears, the dog has not been fed in years
It’s even worse than it appears, but it’s alright
Cow is giving kerosene, kid can’t read at seventeen
The words he knows are all obscene, but it’s alright

We will get by
We will get by
We will get by
We will survive
