Happy Tax Day, y’all! Groundhog Day was a documentary! Who knew?
I am checking out for about a week. But I’ll be back, and we’ll start working again.
If you have not filed your 2019 tax return, and you are a client in good standing (meaning you have paid for your 2018 return, or at least talked to me about it), I filed an extension to October 15 for you as a courtesy.
All 2019 taxes, federal, state and local, are due July 15. Estimated payments for both 1st and 2nd quarter of 2020 are also due July 15.
I wish I could come up with some eloquent words to sum up the tax year and provide guidance for moving forward through 2020. But I can’t. So many things are still in flux. There is a lot of dust yet to settle!
This stuff wakes me up in the middle of the night. But I don’t want it to wake you up. I am doing my best to stay on top of the news and I always have my eye out for information and updates that affect my clients.
After my break, I will be spending the rest of July and most of August in online classes with the IRS. Hopefully I will have a lot of my own questions answered and come out the other side ready to be able to do my best for you.
By the way, as a Gen Xer, I apologize for the Electric Boogaloo thing, but we will never not find that funny.
